Itinerary
DAY 01: ARRIVE KOCHI
- Upon arrival at Kochi International airport, you will be greeted by our representative followed by transfer to your hotel (rooms will be retained only from 13.00 hrs.) Later in the evening, proceed for the Kathakali dance show. Stay overnight at the hotel.
DAY 2: KOCHI
- Proceed for the sightseeing tour of Kochi followed by the excursion to Kumbalangi Village. City tour of Kochi will include St. Francis Church, Dutch Palace (closed on Friday), Synagogue (closed on Fridays, Saturdays & Jewish Holidays), Chinese Fishing Nets, Indo Portuguese Museum (closed on Mondays & Public Holiday). Lunch (traditional fare) at Kumbalangi followed by short boat cruise through the serene backwaters, one gets an opportunity to view various local activities such as Veeshu Vala (fishing with conical nets), Padal (fish trapping in coconut tree leaves) etc. Disembark and take a walk through the village and witness crab catching, Fish flipping, clam meat processing, coir making, mat making, net making, Chinese Fishing net etc. Stay overnight at the hotel.
DAY 03: KOCHI TO THEKKADY
- After breakfast drive to Thekkady (about 110 km / 03 hrs). Take a scenic drive through tea and spice plantations and blue hills and arrive at Periyar. Upon arrival, check in at the Hotel. This afternoon, take a two-hour boat safari on the mist-shrouded lake, which offers excellent opportunities for sporting wildlife, especially herds of elephants. Stay overnight at the hotel.
DAY 04: THEKKADY TO KUMARAKOM
- Morning, tour to the Spice Gardens and later continue drive to Kumarakom and stay 2 nights at Kumarakom. At sunset, boat cruise on Lake Vembanad. Stay overnight at the hotel.
